In our last update we shared about Dayana’s upcoming graduation from chef school.  On December 4, 2017 some of our missionaries had the privilege of being there with her to celebrate this special day and praise the Lord with her as she reached this long time goal!  It was a great day for Dayana where she was surrounded by family and friends from her culinary school!  Here are some pictures of her special day:

Since then Dayana and her family have made some significant changes in their lives.  Through prayer over the last year Dayana has decided that it is time that she move back to the city.  Her son, Estuardo, has already been living in the city with her parents for the last 2 years because he found a school that he really enjoys there.  It has been a big struggle for Dayana and her other son, Andre, to be apart from Estuardo so this was one of the things that motivated them to move to the city.  Another reason for this move is that it will be easier for Dayana to find a job with her new degree if she is in the city rather than living in a town outside of the city.  Finally, they decided that now was the time to make this move because Andre will need to change schools this year anyway due to advancing in his grades and for that reason now is the best time to make the move with as little affect as possible on Andre.

For right now Dayana and the boys are living with her parents but they are in the process of looking for a place they can afford to rent.  Dayana has some interviews coming up and we ask that you would please be praying for God to give her favor in the interviews and show her where He wants her to be working.

It is such a blessing for the family to all be together again and for them to be moving forward in the plans that God has for their lives.  However, one of the sad things in all of this is that Dayana and her boys are now outside of the coverage area for the SARF ministry.  We have made an exception over the last 2 years for Estuardo because Dayana did a lot to help with the paperwork but because they are all now so far away it is not possible for SARF to continue helping the boys with their schooling.  We will be helping them with the large beginning of the year costs for January 2018 and we will be paying for the first month of schooling but after that Dayana will be responsible for paying the monthly tuition for her sons.  Please pray for God to continue to provide all that is needed for the boys to continue to be able to study.  Please also pray for Dayana to not feel any fear or worries about this but to trust that the Lord will care for them just as He always has.  We have seen a tremendous amount of growth in Dayana and her family over the last 4 years and we are confident that now that Dayana has her degree she will be able to care for her family.  Understandably, she is nervous about this but we continue to encourage her and remind her that the goal was always for her family to get to a place where they didn’t need financial help from the ministry and that this is another step in trusting in the Lord’s care for them.

We will continue to be in contact with Dayana and her boys and will visit them as schedules allow when our missionaries are in the city.  We also have sent out personal e-mails to all of the families that support Dayana and her boys financially to discuss how you would like to move forward with your support of the SARF ministry.  If you did not receive one of those e-mails and your family is a financial sponsor for Dayana’s family we apologize and ask that you please contact Melissa@Servants.org to discuss this further.

Thank you for all of your love, prayers, encouragement and support for Dayana and her family over the last 4 years!  Please continue to pray for them and if you are in contact with them we ask that you please continue to check in with them and encourage them.  Also, if you ever want to send Dayana a message and you do not have contact with her through social media you can do so through the mySARF website or by writing directly to Melissa@Servants.org.
