We began helping this family in 2023.  After a decades long relationship through Olga, she asked the team if we could help them temporarily.

Selvin, the main breadwinner of the family, sustained a back injury which meant he could no longer work.  His mom, Choma, makes food like tamales and chuchitos (small tamales) and sells them in the community for sustainment.  Cecilia, Selvin’s wife, makes a small portion of money doing jobs in the community.

Since Selvin cannot currently work (we are praying for healing through his upcoming surgery which has no definitive date), the family began struggling to make ends meet and support their children going to school.  Additionally, because of their scant living conditions, they have began having various health issues.
