Yes, it’s only a few words but still we are so excited for her. You see, Lily has wanted to learn English for quite some time but has never had the opportunity. Last year she took a beginners English course in school and it was quite a struggle for her. This year she is again taking English and in her weekly meetings with our local missionary she has started to speak a few words of English!! We are so excited for her to have the opportunity to see this dream that she has had for so long finally start to come true.
Lily is in her 2nd year of college where she is studying business administration. She enjoys it and does very well in school but also shares with us that it is quite challenging. She has a lot of homework to do every week (she only goes to school on Saturdays) and on top of her homework she is very busy with her secretarial job for the local church and taking care of her son Jorge. However, she is an intelligent and devoted young woman who despite these challenges still finds time to serve Jesus in 2 different ministries in the local church. The leaders of the church have recently commented to our local missionaries how impressed they are with all that the Lord is doing in Lily’s life and how He is growing her to be a faithful leader in the church.
Please continue to pray for Lily as she strives to learn English, learn the rest of her classes, do well in her job, stay faithful to serving the Lord, and makes time to care for her son. Lily also has asked that we would pray for Jorge as he is now reaching an age where he is not a toddler anymore and has started to show some defiance. She asked that we pray for patience and wisdom for her in parenting Jorge and also that we pray for God to mold Jorge’s character to be Christlike.
Thank you for all of your continued prayers and support of Lily and Jorge. They have expressed how thankful they are to have the opportunities that they now have and to know that there are people who are praying for them faithfully.
