We have previously shared that Jairo graduated from high school, but there is more news about that! Jairo still lives with Ilsa, but Dincy and Yanira have long since moved out and started families of their own. Jairo is now working as a mechanic and enjoys it! What does this mean for the Fuentes family? They are now self-sustaining! This has always been the goal, and we are grateful for your faithful support that has helped these orphans achieve a life of being able to care for themselves.

Since the kids have graduated from our program, we have invited Ilsa to be a part of our board in Guatemala! Her extensive training and experience as a women’s group leader in church fits perfectly with our mission. She has since gotten more involved in serving the families. In the image above you can see her first foray into teaching mothers in our biweekly discipleship class.
As such, we will be removing the Fuentes “kids” from our sponsorship program, but you will still be able to receive updates about their well-being, as we remain in touch with them. Stories like this give us a little boost in knowing that how we are ministering to families is actually working, and that one family at a time, we are helping to improve lives for God’s glory.
