A few months ago Maria fell ill with the Chikunguya virus which causes high fevers and extreme body pains.  We have noticed that this illness impacts the elderly much more severely than it does younger people.  Maria is still having pain and she was sick over 6 months ago.

She finally went to see a doctor because the pain started moving into her abdomen and the doctor told her the virus is processing through her body because the pain she did have in other areas of her body has gone away and is passing to other areas.  She was also told at the doctor that she is almost completely deaf in her left ear and she needs a hearing aid.

The cost of this hearing aid is Q7,000 which is about $933.   As you can imagine this is completely out of Maria’s price range and she told the doctor it’s better just to leave it as it is because she can’t afford the hearing aid.

Please continue to pray for healing for Maria from the pain she is experiencing from the virus and for the provisions for a hearing aid for Maria or for the Lord to heal her ear and allow her to hear again.
