As our missionaries and members from some short term teams have visited with the Diaz family over last few months we have been pleased to see that they are doing well. Oscar and Carmen both passed their year of school last year and are doing well so far in school this year. Carmen is struggling a little with trigonometry but it is something she is still in the process of learning and our missionaries are keeping and eye on this to see if she will need any help in the future. Through the Grace Tech ministry at Servants this family was able to receive a laptop computer to help the kids with their studies and they were very excited about this as it will make things much easier for them as they complete their school assignments.
There have been some troubles with the neighbors being jealous of the visits (and occasional blessings) that this family has received through the Serving At Risk Families ministry but Mirna shared with us recently that things are getting better. They are so thankful for a monthly donation of food which they started receiving last month as a result of a grant through SARF as this has helped them to have food more regularly. They also are thankful for a devotional they received from some of their sponsors who were able to visit them on the January SARF team. They showed us at the last visit that they are continuing to read the devotional.
Please continue to pray for Carmen and Oscar to do well in school and to enjoy the week’s rest they have coming up during Holy week. Please pray for Mirna to be healed of some shoulder pain that she has been having. Please also pray for there to be no problems at all with jealousy from her neighbors and that God’s grace would cover the entire neighborhood. Please also pray for the whole family to grow closer to Jesus every day.
Thank you for all of your prayers, love, and support for this family!
