For a long time Pedro has had a desire and gift to be a pastor. He worked for a short while as a missionary in his home region of Nebaj but things did not work out very well with the church that was supporting him. The family then moved to Linda Vista to find better work since they were no longer financially supported by the church. Since then, they have been working hard to support their family and Pedro expressed to one of our missionaries that he feels God calling him back to pastoral work. He also expressed this to his pastor and has since started shadowing the pastor to learn. Please pray for the Lord to continue guiding him and developing him so he can one day realize this vision God has given him.
Pedro is also struggling with a hernia. The job he works at is a produce packaging company and they don’t give him much time to rest or protect it, although he has been getting along ok with a support belt. His fear is that recuperation from surgery, which 4-6 weeks, will cause him to lose his job. Please pray for God’s healing hand on him so he doesn’t need surgery at all!
The girls are doing well in school this year although Katy has discovered that math is more difficult for her than she thought. So, she is seeking help at the new study hall constructed by the January 2016 SARF team that came down. Jacinto, their son, has also graduated high school and since moved back with the family and recently got a job working at a local pharmacy.
Pedro and his family so appreciate your prayers, letters, encouragement, and love. Thank you for all of your faithful support for this family!
