Today, with sad hearts, we want to share with all of you a prayer request for Jackeline and her family.
This past week Jackeline’s mom, Sandra, passed on to her eternal rest with Jesus. While Sandra’s illness is something the family has been dealing with for a long time and the possibility of her death is something for which they have been trying to prepare, it is still a very hard time for their family.
As you may remember Sandra has struggled for several years with chronic kidney disease and spinal cancer which also spread to her bones. A few months ago she had to spend some time in the hospital and during a visit with our missionaries she said that she was tired of being sick and tired of being in pain. Thankfully, she recovered enough to come home from the hospital and have some more time with her family but went back into the hospital again a few weeks ago and passed away on Saturday, November 5.
Jackeline reached out to our missionaries right away asking them to pray for her family. We had the blessing of working together as a team to make sure the kids were cared for as Jackeline and her dad planned the funeral and stayed up all night receiving people at the viewing. We also had the opportunity to be there with Jackeline and her dad during part of the viewing, the grave side service, and the laying to rest of Sandra. We were encouraged to see that although Jackeline and her family are very sad, they are also at peace knowing that Sandra is no longer suffering and “finally resting with Jesus” as Jackeline’s dad told us at the funeral.
Please continue to pray for Jackeline and her family during this difficult time. It was just a few years ago when Jackeline and her children lost their husband/father and now to have lost their mother/grandmother is an additional blow to their slowly healing hearts. Jackeline and her father have expressed how thankful they are for everyone at Servants who is helping them and praying for them during this time of grieving. We are thankful that Jackeline and her family are finding comfort in the Lord and that so many people are involved in their lives to pray them through these sad times. Thank you for being a part of their lives and for your faithful prayers for this family!
