We are so happy to share that Luisgraduated from 6th grade this year!!  This is a huge blessing as he has really struggled with school the last several years.  A few years ago, Luis and his siblings were rescued from a very bad home situation by the House of Refuge, a ministry at a local church.  While the pastoral family in charge of the House of Refuge could afford to take the children in and feed them, they could not afford the cost of all of their schooling.  Thankfully the pastor in their church contacted the Serving At Risk Families ministry and this is how they were able to get sponsors who are helping this young man and his siblings continue their education.  Next year Luis will be studying online, as he is several years past the age for the grade level that he will be going into and by studying online he may be able to complete a few years at a time and be able to catch up with other children his age.

As if graduation wasn’t enough, Luis also got to celebrate his birthday this month with his family!

We are also happy to share that the Marlyn and Josue, Luis’s siblings, also passed their grades this year and will be moving forward in their studies.  Please continue to pray for these children as they follow the plans God has for their lives!
