As you may remember from our last post the Escobar family has really been struggling because Fabiola is the only one who had a steady job. In September the family moved in to a new home because the owner was selling their old house. They were very thankful to find the new house although it was good bit more expensive than their previous house. They knew it would be a stretch but thankfully with Fabiola’s job and the occasional work Hipolita and Jamilton were able to find they were making ends meet.
Sadly, Fabiola recently lost her job. She was a nanny for a family where both the parents work. She does not know why they decided to let her go because she has been working for the for quite some time. She told us that all she knows is she went to work one day and they were talking about the possibility of not needing her to work for them anymore and when she went back the next day they told her they didn’t need her anymore. They thanked her for all her work for them but just told her they no longer needed her.
This is very difficult as the family now has no steady income. Fabiola has started selling yogurt for another woman who is a supplier so this is bringing in some income for the family but it is not near the amount as she was making at her other job. Please pray for the Lord to provide another job quickly for Fabiola and for Hipolita and Jamilton. Please pray for the Lord to continue to meet their needs during this difficult time. Also, please pray that this does not affect Jamilton and Fabiola in their studying.
Jamilton has been doing well in his schooling and this is the first year that Fabiola has been able to go back to school so please pray that they are able to stay in school. Fabiola also has to get her paperwork from her old school before the end of February or her new school will not permit her to continue studying. This has been a challenge for her because the last school that she studied in was several hours away in the town where her dad lives. She has not been able to go because of her work so now that she has free time Servants is looking at how we can help her get to the town and get her paperwork.
Thank you for all of your love, prayer and support for this family!
Over Christmas a friend, who is a professional photographer, was here visiting and took some photos to bless the families we serve. We have printed these out and will be sharing them with the families. We also wanted to share a few of them with you! Sadly, Fabiola was at work that day but here are a few of the rest of the family.
