The Lopez kids’ main focus right now is school.

Luis is doing very well in school and is enjoying his studies although they are a little boring for him.  He is excelling.  Next year, Jorge and Shirley are looking into afternoon technical classes to enroll him in to keep him active and focused on learning.

Marlin has struggled a little bit but they are giving her more attention by being more strict with her school work.  Recently, however, they ran into a problem with the website that is used to upload her work so they are going to the school soon to talk with the teachers and make sure she doesn’t get docked points for missing work.  She recently said she wants to attend a physical school this year and that is why she is giving them problems with her attitude but they reminded her that she has to prove herself worthy to do so since she had a bad attitude last year while attending a physical school.  This is why they are homeschooling her this year to help her focus more on her work and not be distracted by her peers.

Josue has recently stopped applying himself as Jorge and Shirley have talked about enrolling him in homeschooling as well.  He has taken a “I’m not coming back next year, so who cares?” attitude but Jorge and Shirley along with the teachers are communicating about this and encouraging Josue to put forth his best effort regardless of what is being planned for the next year.
