Aminta’s case continues to process.  She recently had to sit through a week of court hearings as the judge read off the 400 books of evidence they have against this extortion gang!  It was a long and difficult process but she said she was glad to have her brother Fredy there to guide her and her daughter Lidia to take notes.  It’s been a long road and Aminta asks for prayers for the upcoming weeks.  Her public defender told her to expect a social worker visit before her next hearing on October 15th.  She was told she might be required to pay a fine but it was not specified what for.  This is a very complicated case and there are many moving parts, but she continues to maintain her faith that God is her ultimate defender and He will deliver her!

Lidia is nearing the end of her middle school study and is now faced with picking a career path.  She wants to study to be a beautician but the school is in Guatemala city which means taking the bus for over an hour one way!  She will be visiting the school soon to get more information and see if it is what God wants her to pursue.  Her and Nancy will also be looking for jobs during this vacation time to try to get steady jobs for the coming year.  This way they hope to be able to contribute a little towards their own education.  Since they are both over 18, we are encouraging them to take more responsibility for their lives.

On our latest visit, Aminta’s granddaughter was laying on the couch with her kitten!
