The Lopez kids (as we’ve begun to call them) have ended the year very well.  All 3 completed their schooling with good grades and Erick graduated 6th grade!  This is a big feat since he had been behind in school since we met him and he didn’t even like school.  Next year, he will be starting an accelerated program to make up for lost time where he will take both 7th and 8th grade together.  Additionally, he and Luis are interested in taking technical courses in electronics.  They will have to take placement tests in January to see if they are at an educational level high enough to be able to do well in the class.
Since Jorge and Shirley have taken in the 3 kids and have 3 of their own, they have thought about how to best serve all 6 and help them in their schooling while also being the most cost efficient.  Since Shirley’s education is in teaching, they have decided to have all 6 kids attend an online based homeschooling course.  The Lopez kids will be more self sufficient and Jorge and Shirley will be supervising and helping with their work while they will be focusing on teaching the younger ones.  Please pray for wisdom and patience as this is the first time they have done this!  Luis and Marlin did well this past year using the same program, so they are already familiar with the format.  Erick and Luis hope to be able to attend their technical schools in the afternoon.
This month Erick and Luis got baptized!  They each gave a short testimony before their baptisms and both said they want to be baptized because they want to fully give their lives over to the Lord and make themselves available to whatever work  He has called them to in the future.  We were very blessed to be there for this special moment and pray God continues to work in the lives of these young men!
Shirley continues to experience medical issues and they believe that it is a gastrointestinal problem.  Please pray for wisdom for the doctors as they continue to try to diagnose and treat her, but ultimately for God’s complete healing!
