We were pleasantly surprised to see Dincy on our recent visit with Ilsa. We hadn’t heard from or seen her for a long time since she moved in with her boyfriend. As the shame culture dictates here, we suspected she might be pregnant. Usually, when someone gets pregnant and isn’t officially married, they tend to hide from others once they begin to show in order to avoid awkward questions. We had seen some indications on her social media accounts that she might be pregnant although the family did not tell us. Our visit was a bit of a surprise to them as it has also been difficult to get ahold of Ilsa via telephone.

Jairo reports doing well in his studies, although Dincy admits she has not continued her schooling. We suspected as much, as she nor her boyfriend can afford schooling, especially now that they have a child. Their daughter, Genesis, was born healthily and is now almost 2 months old!
