In our last visit with the Fuentes family we heard about the victories they are having with one of their children and the struggles they are having with their other 2 children.

Ilsa, the woman who has taken in these 3 children after their mother passed away 2 years ago, shared with one of our in country missionaries that Yanira is having some difficulties with her studies. As you can see from the picture of her report card she is currently failing 6 classes and if she fails more than 4 classes she will have to repeat the year. This is serious because the Guatemalan school system ends their school year in October so Yanira does not have long to improve her grades.

Jairo, the youngest of the 3, is having many difficulties in his studies. Ilsa told us it is because he does not want to do his part and put in the work needed to study and complete his work. We are very concerned about this as we do not want Jairo to have to repeat another year of school.

Dincy, the middle child of the 3, is doing well in her studies. She is very responsible and likes to study. However, she does occasionally struggle with finishing all the work she’s assigned. Dincy is also struggling with missing their oldest sister Margaret because she is married and lives far away.

The family has recently been hit with illnesses including headaches, cough, and cold but regardless of these struggles they know that God is always faithful.

Please join us in praising Jesus for the fact that the family has started healing from their recent illnesses and for Dincy’s good performance in school. Please continue to pray for complete healing from the illnesses and for Yanira and Jairo in their struggles with school. Please also pray for God to show us if there is something more we can be doing to help them succeed in their schooling.
