Especially if in reality she doesn’t have any that belong to her and are in good shape.  That was the case with Marlin Lopez – Ordoñez until a few days ago. Thanks to you, her faithful supporters, she was able to get new shoes.  It came to the attention of our missionaries in Guatemala that Marlin needed new shoes for gym class.  She had been wearing her old sneakers, a pair of hand me downs from someone else, since January and they just weren’t working anymore.  That same week we were able to take her to the store to look for new sneakers.

As we were looking for new sneakers for Marlin the sales rep came up and told us that all shoes were buy one get one half price.  So we asked Marlin if she needed shoes for anything else.  At first we were thinking of getting her 2 pairs of sneakers one pair being a little bigger so she could have them in the future but we were told by Marlin’s aunt that she really needs new black dress shoes to wear with her school uniform too.  She has a pair that she is sharing with someone else but it would be really great if she could have her own.  So not only did we find Marlin a new pair of sneakers for gym class but she now also has her very own pair of dress shoes.  We didn’t ask her because we didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable but from her excitement we believe this may have been her very first new pair of shoes.

Thank you so much for continuing to partner with us here at Servants and for continuing to support this family through prayer and financial partnership.  Marlin was so excited for her new shoes and was happy to model them for us to take a picture so we could show all of you.  She is truly grateful for all you do for her and her family.

Showing off her new sneakers! We forgot to get a picture of her black dress shoes but they're beautiful :)
