For the time being, we are currently out of contact with Roselia.

We heard from Carmen, her ex-mother-in-law (Jorge’s mom) that they have “escaped” to the coast where Roselia is originally from. There has been an arrest warrant issued for her husband’s arrest as his ex-wife filed for back pay on child support which adds up to thousands of dollars and they continue to struggle to get by on a daily basis. Moving to the coast moves them out of the municipality where the arrest warrant was issued and they will not be looking for him there. This kind of thing happens a lot.

Unfortunately, Roselia also continues to be upset with the ministry because of their Christmas basket being divided between her house and Jorge’s. The kids had been living with each parent in one or two week shifts and since the food is primarily to help feed the kids anyway, it didn’t make sense to give two whole baskets to one family. Carmen was caring for the food (so Jorge didn’t eat or sell it) at her house and the rest was kept with Roselia. Given her great disdain for Jorge AND she felt like she was somehow being slighted personally, we haven’t heard from her since. Given that they have moved to the coast and Roselia changed her phone number (according to Carmen), we have no way of visiting or contacting them unless they do so first.

Given the legal troubles that her husband is now in, this might actually be better for the ministry anyway as we would not want to be accused of harboring a fugitive. We had an idea this might eventually happen as Roselia was keeping us updated about the case and now a judgment has been ordered. We will be moving this family into “archived” status and will send out updates if we hear anything back from them.

Please continue to keep this family in your prayers!
