Olga was able to visit with Carmen and Jorge and discovered that Jorge has been sober for 5 months!

We have been in contact with Carmen, who has been living with her daughter in Guatemala City. This time she wanted to meet at the house where she was living with Jorge and to our surprise, God has kept Jorge sober for the past 5 months. This is a HUGE change, especially since the holidays (Both Christmas and Easter) are categorically the biggest drinking holidays in the country.

Kevin is still living with him and working. Andre has re-established contact with him and visits periodically. He is working in the city, so it makes more sense for him to keep living with Carmen there.

Jorge was really happy to see Olga and talked about how hard it has been some days to stay sober, especially in the beginning when his body would convulse and get sick from the withdrawal symptoms. He was very kind and hospitable.

He credited our prayers for him to what has set him free! Not only has he been healthy and providing for his family, but also attending church regularly. He said he wants Carmen to move back in but she isn’t quite ready to do that yet.
