In Guatemala the name for a daughter-in-law is “nuera” pronounced new-era.  Many Guatemalans will help you to remember this word by telling to remember NO ERA because it sounds pretty close to NEW ERA and the word for “was” in Spanish is “era”.  So you just have to think “ella NO ERA mi hija pero ahora si” which translates into “she WAS NOT my daughter but now she is”.  🙂

Now that we finished with the Spanish lesson for the day we want to share with you that the recent wedding between Jacinto, the son of Juanita & Pedro, and his wife, Eva, was a great day for the whole family.  It was a much needed time of happiness given all the struggles the family has recently experienced. The wedding took place in their hometown of Nebaj, Guatemala and the day after the wedding they moved back to the house where the family lives in Linda Vista, Guatemala.  No time for a honeymoon because Jacinto had to get back to work.

We have had the opportunity to meet Eva and she is a very sweet girl!  Please continue to pray for this newly married couple and for all of the family.  The couple are currently living with Pedro, Juanita, Katy & Maty where they all share a very small living space.  Please pray for everyone to get along well, for Eva to adjust well to living in a new place and being far from her family.  Please also pray for the couple to continue to grow in their relationship together and in their relationship with the Lord.
