In February, Jamilton came down with appendicitis. He was able to have emergency surgery and seems to be doing better. However, he still is suffering with unreliable work since recovering. We have been able to help them with food supplements and here is a pic of Hipolita picking them up from the ministry center!

Faviola had a baby at the beginning of the year and Hipolita has been living with her to help her care for the baby as she recovers from giving birth! We haven’t gotten a pic of her yet, but we hope to soon! They had to move out of the house they were renting and continue to struggle to find a home that they don’t have issues with the landlord. Unfortunately, there aren’t many laws in Guatemala that protect renters, so it has created some unstable situations for them as they also struggle to find steady work and a reliable place to live.
Unfortunately, this is one of the ways poor families struggle to find stability in their lives and feel ostracized by people with power (aka money) in Guatemala. It creates a chaotic lifestyle, over which folks have very little control over.
Please continue to pray for them!
