Birthdays and anniversaries!!  Who doesn’t love them?  They’re usually a fun time to share with your loved ones.  But those special occasions can be difficult when you live alone and the anniversary that is coming is the loss of a very special loved one.

Over the last few weeks Maria has had both a birthday and an anniversary in her life.  Thankfully, her birthday was a day filled with good friends and good food so she was not alone on this special day!  Then a few days after her birthday some of our missionaries were able to visit with her to spend some time with her for her birthday and because the next day was the anniversary of the death of her sister.

During this visit Maria shared with us that she was blessed to have her friends with her on her birthday and to have missionaries from Servants visit her regularly and remember her because sometimes she feels so alone.  The day of this visit was also a day when she was feeling very alone because she was so sad thinking about her sister not being with her anymore.

Our missionaries were able to spend time encouraging her, reminding her of good memories with her sister, and praying for her.  Maria is also struggling right now because she continues to have ear pain and on the day of the visit she was getting over an upset stomach from eating too much on her birthday.  Despite these difficulties Maria continues to trust in the Lord and thank Him every day for all of her blessings.

Please join Maria in praising our amazing Lord for all of the many blessings we all have.  Also, please continue to lift her up for complete healing from her ear pain, stomach pain, and the loneliness she struggles with.

She was very excited to have a team that was here working with our ministry this month come and visit with her last week.  She always tells us how everyone in Servants is like family to her 🙂
