In our most recent visit with the Jimenez family we learned a lot of valuable information.  First off, Roselina has expressed again how grateful she is for the opportunity her children have to attend school through your support.  She told us that being boys sometimes it is hard because they are very active and want to go play or help gather firewood for cooking rather than doing their homework but it is still a big blessing to their family for the boys to have the opportunity to go to school.  Roselina also told us she tries to help them with their homework so they can get it done and can be free to go have fun or to help work at the local coffee farm to earn money for the family.  She has expressed to us that sometimes it is a challenge having all boys but they are also a blessing.  The boys only have 2 more weeks of school and are looking forward to their free time before school starts again in January.

Jorge, the father of this family, is still without permanent work but has been able to find seasonal work at the local coffee farm.  This is the same farm where the boys work once they have completed their homework.

Roselina and Carmen, Jorge’s mom, have asked that we would please pray for Jorge as he has started drinking quite a bit.  They are worried about the effect this has on the children.  They have been hesitant to share this with anyone because they feel ashamed and do not want to be judged but they also expressed that they feel confident sharing it with all of us because they know we will be praying for them and that is what they need most.  We also mentioned to them about the possibility of Jorge coming to the Celebrate Recovery ministry that some of our missionaries have in a local church.  Please pray for his heart to be opened to the changes God wants to make in him and also for him to find permanent work because if he’s working he’s not drinking.

Recently, a sister organization shared with us a donation of frozen broccoli they received.  The family was very happy to receive some of this as vegetable are not something they have a lot of in their diet.

Yay broccoli for everyone!!

Yay broccoli for everyone!!

Not to often you get to see a kid so happy about broccoli!!!

Please continue to pray for the boys to finish well in their schooling this year and for God to continue to bring provisions and healing.  Thank you all for your faithful prayers and support of this family!
