We have seen the Lord’s faithfulness through our persistence!  Our missionaries have been discipling Carmen and Mirna and to our joy, there has been a lot of progress! They have committed to and followed through on praying daily as a family and are already seeing the benefits and changes in their lives.

Even though there are still occasional mother-daughter-son spats as there are in any family, they are learning how to treat each other with Godly love and respect.  Carmen has really taken an interest in church and has begun taking classes for her first communion and confirmation!  She is always excited to sit down and talk more about the bible and learn about God.

Recently, there was a dispute between Mirna, Carmen, and Carmen’s cousin who lives nearby.  They had always been close but something came between them.  A couple of weeks ago Mirna became ill and God gave a dream to the cousin about Mirna being sick (she hadn’t known Mirna was sick because they were no longer talking) and she immediately went to the house to apologize for her behavior.  Mirna forgave her and said, “before, I would have responded in an ugly way.  But recently, some special friends have been teaching me about God’s love and I decided I’m not that person anymore, so I just let it go.”

It’s at this point we reflect back on when we first met Mirna and her kids.  She refused to talk about God, the Bible, or even let us pray for them!!!  God is so good!  We were also blessed to witness a special relationship between Carmen and one of the women who came down on our team in May.
