Hello everyone.
We wanted to send you a quick prayer request for the ministry and specifically for the families we serve and the rest of Guatemala. Thursday night the Guatemalan President addressed the country in response to the surge of cases we experienced this past week. As a result, they are severely restricting movement throughout the country, even to limit all vehicle movement this weekend, in order to curb the rapid increase of the spread of COVID-19. Next Monday – Thursday there is limited movement allowed for folks to go shopping and buy necessary goods and all movement, including foot traffic, will be strictly prohibited from next Thursday evening until at least the following Monday (May 25).
Today we took food to one of our families which was completely out of food. We have been contacting everyone via phone to see what they have available to them so we can make sure they get what they need to sustain themselves during the prolonged lockdown next weekend.
Please continue to pray for provision for the families, for wisdom for us as we minister to them, and wisdom for the Guatemalan government as they make seemingly impossible decisions that affect the whole of the country.
