Toward the end of January, Hector got pretty sick. He was having problems with his breathing. After being admitted to the hospital, they discovered he had some damage to his lungs. They suspect it is a result of the chemicals he works with and is exposed to working in a foundry. He was able to have surgery and thankfully is now recovering. He has returned to working little by little as he is able while recovering his strength. A praise in all this is not only that he was able to get the medical attention he needed, but that spending so much time in the hospital and recovery has given him a great amount of time of sobriety!

Oti has been experiencing some memory loss as of late. She finds herself not remembering if she did simple things like make lunch or tidy up the sitting area. Thankfully, since she is fully retired she can get medicine and vitamins from the socialized health care hospital and has been receiving treatment to help her with her short term memory. We will see if it helps.
