As most of you know for the last 6 years Lily and Jorge have been living in the house of refuge at City of Refuge church.  They initially came to the house of refuge after some difficulties in Lily’s home town and some difficult issues in Lily’s family.  During their time at the house of refuge Lily has come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior and has received a lot of healing from things in her past.  She and Jorge have both been able to continue their educations and Lily has even completed a few years of her college degree thanks to you, her faithful sponsors (which is something most Guatemalans do not have the opportunity to do).

Over the last 2 years Lily and her family have been working on rebuilding their relationship and now the Lord has restored that relationship to an amazing degree.  While they still have issues, just like every family, Lily has shared that she is thankful for the Lord bringing her back into relationship with her family and healing the hurts from the past.

During the last few months, Lily and Jorge have been going through some significant changes in their lives.  Due to confidentiality reasons we cannot share all of the details of what is happening but Lily has decided that it would be best for her and Jorge to move back to her hometown which is about a 2-3 hour drive away from where she was living at the house of refuge.  She has met a young man in her hometown and she also has reached a point in her relationship with her mother where she feels she would like to live with her family again.

We at Servants are still in contact with Lily and are trying to be sure she fully understands how this decision will impact both her live and Jorge’s life.  We ask that you would join us in praying about this situation as we seek the Lord’s will in all of this.  We also ask that you would pray for Lily to completely seek the Lord in this decision and that she would be given wisdom and would follow the Lord’s will for her life whatever that may be.  Finally, we ask that you will pray for the relationship that Lily has with the young man she met.  His family is Catholic but he himself is not a Christian.  Lily tells us that he does encourage her to continue her relationship with the Lord but we are concerned for her to end up in a relationship that could pull her away from Jesus.
