It has been difficult to get a hold of Chus or Angelica as they always seem to be running around working or looking for work. Angelica is trying to start her own little business of making and selling food in the community where she lives. Chus continues to work for the cement block factory, although they constantly have problems with the machine. Recently, the main belt broke on the machine he operates. They have to wait for the replacement part to come in before they can resume work again. Since they aren’t able to work, the company doesn’t pay them. However, if he quits, he loses his other benefits! So, he continues to look for odd jobs while he waits for the machine to be fixed.
Thanks to your support, we are able to provide them with a monthly nutrition basket which ensures they can eat more regularly and helps to offset the lack of salary they are getting.
