It has been a long hard 4 months for Maria. As you may remember from our last update Maria has been dealing with stomach issues since June of 2016. She was finally diagnosed 4 months ago with diverticulitis. She was prescribed some very expensive medicine and thanks to faithful donations we were able to help her to buy the medicine she needed to treat this painful disease. It has taken a long time, many trips to the doctor, a change in doctors, many lab tests, and much prayers/patience but finally Maria is feeling better in her stomach. We are so thankful for this and are praising the Lord for all of His healing and financial provisions for this illness.
During this treatment the doctor also discovered that Maria has issues with her thyroid and some anxiety and depression. The pills for her thyroid condition caused more pain in Maria’s stomach so she is not able to take them and the problems with anxiety and depression still continue to plague her.
Maria still struggles with feeling alone since her sister died 2 years ago but she constantly tells anyone from Servants how much they treat her like family and how thankful she is for this. A few weeks ago the president of Servants was here for a board meeting and he had the opportunity to visit Maria. She was so happy because he visits her almost every time he is in Guatemala and she loves seeing him. The best part was that he had several other people along with him for the visit and Maria was telling us how her heart feels full every time her house is full with people who care for her.
Thank you for your faithful prayers, love and support for Maria. You are a great blessing to this sweet woman who feels that the majority of her family does not care for her. Please continue to pray for complete healing for all of the issues that she is struggling with and if you would ever like to send her a letter or card, to cheer her up and encourage her, you can send it to the Servant’s office and we will make sure it gets to her.
