We just discovered that Jackeline has contracted typhoid fever. She was able to see the doctor and get some medicine from the hospital but cannot afford the rest of the treatment. We are working to get her the rest of what she needs but we ask for your prayers for complete healing and recovery!

Jairo and Alejandra are enjoying their new school experiences this year! While they are still “stuck” attending online only for now, Alejandra is happy to be making new friends while rotating classes and Jairo is pleased that his new teacher has better control of the digital classroom.

Previously it had been a big distraction for him and discouragement because he couldn’t always understand what his teacher was teaching last year since the students would interrupt with their various noises which would put the video class focus on them instead of the teacher. Jairo seemed to respond well to the help he got from the school psychologist last year. Since he has a new teacher this year, the teacher has to refer him as having problems before getting more help but so far it seems he doesn’t need it!

Jackeline had to have a toenail removed because of an infection and is healing. As she waits for the new one to grow back, it’s difficult to walk sometimes. The doctor also said not to spend too much time in front of the stove because the heat can prevent growth, so Alejandra has begun to help in the kitchen although she can’t quite yet make tortillas. 

They no longer have to leave the house! The owners were able to work out whatever they were struggling with that they thought they would have to sell the house so now everything is ok for them to stay.  Please continue praying for the kids’ improvement in school and Jackeline’s ongoing search for a steady job.
