In our last update we shared with you about Ilsa’s son Roger breaking his clavicle.  We are happy to report that he has since healed from the injury and is back to work.  Ilsa continued with her sewing classes and in July she finished another course.  She is gaining more skills, and she has learned how to sew kitchen and bathroom accessory sets.  Ilsa is just starting up another class and will be adding even more skills as she looks to put this into use in the future as an income source for her family.  Please continue to join us in praying for her persistence in learning these new skills as they are time consuming and involve a lot of projects outside of class time.

Dincy has continued to reject God’s work in her life.  Ilsa is very involved in her local church, but Dincy isn’t interested in attending on a regular basis and hasn’t been making the wisest choices with her friendships.  Pray that God would break her heart, and that she would have a desire to follow Him.  Dincy is currently finishing up her last year of basicos (US 10th grade equivalent) and will need to make a choice on a career she wants to pursue as the next level of education in Guatemala is a 2 or 3-year program that prepares students for a career.  She recently shared with us that she is interested in pursuing a 2-year career in medicine and then studying for 1 more year to specialize in working as a nurse in a lab.  There aren’t many schools that offer this.  She is looking at potentially studying at a school in Amatitlan, a half hour drive south, or moving in with some of Ilsa’s family near the coast where there is another school that offers this course study.  Please pray for wisdom and guidance as Dincy prepares to make this important decision that will affect her future.

Jairo is finishing up his final year of primary school (US 7th grade equivalent).  He recently started attending a youth program that was started by a missionary family serving with Servants that meets weekly.  This is great news because Jairo, like his sister Dincy, has been resistant to God working in his life.  Please pray for Jairo as he continues to grow, that he would grow into a man of God who would be a leader in his family and in his community.

Thank you for all your continued prayers and support for the Fuentes family!
