Above, Oti receives her Christmas basket at home. Given that she struggles to get around, we delivered it to her directly at home.

Although Oti and Hector continue to battle physical ailments, the Lord continues to provide for them not just physically, but also spiritually.

Oti’s continued to have problems with dizziness and it seems to have been occurring more often. So, although she swore off going to the clinic because “all they do is take my money and don’t fix anything,” she decided to go get checked out at the behest of her family. During her consult the doctor was concerned with her kidney function, so they had some tests done (to include an MRI) and she is currently waiting for her follow-up appointment with the doc to determine if her kidneys are functioning properly and where to go from there.

Hector has had an up-and-down battle with his alcoholism the past few months but we have much to celebrate! We suggested helping him get into a rehab center but he refused vehemently. Then, not too long after that, he had a bad fall where he injured his spine and had to be put on bed rest for a number of days. Although he asked for folks to bring him alcohol, his nephews that work with him only brought him water and electrolytes and food! His spine injury put him in a position where he has had no option but to sober up and detoxify his system. In our most recent visit after the new year he told us that he has begun praying for God to heal him of his addiction to alcohol!

Let’s join Hector in his prayer and continue to pray for Oti’s complete healing!
