Our last update about this family mentioned some health problems that Alejandra was experiencing. They had diagnosed her with H Pylori and anemia. Since then, she has received treatment for both ailments but after the 10 days of treatment for H Pylori, she still tested positive. She also tested positive for thyroid problems. We have been helping the family with medical costs as the process continues. Jackeline has been doin what she can to pay for the doctor visits, tests, and medicines but doesn’t have enough.

This past week she spent some time in the hospital because the antibiotics should have taken care of the H Pylori. She continues to lose weight and energy despite vitamin supplements and medicine. They took 2 bone marrow biopsies this week to test for leukemia but the tests came back negative.

As you can imagine, this has become quite the ordeal! Jackeline is struggling emotionally as it pains her to see her daughter this way and Alejandra of course is worried about what is going on with her. The doctors so far have only been able to discover that both her red and white blood cells continue to diminish in her body and until they find out what is causing it, they can’t suggest any type of treatment as it could make things worth if misdiagnosed.

On Monday, Olga will accompany Jackeline and Alejandra to the hospital again for a third and hopefully final test to discover what is happening with this usually vibrant and energetic girl.
