You may remember that about 4 months ago Faviola had surgery for the removal of her appendix.  She continued to have pain from the surgery and we recently discovered that she never took the antibiotics that the doctor prescribed and very well might have an infection.  We continued to encourage her to go for a consult and to let us know what they prescribe as we can help with the medical costs.  Thankfully, Favi was healed without going to the doctor!

Ricardoi (Jamilton’s son) has gotten better and recovered from his chicken pox!  Please pray for his continued health and growth.  He is now walking and talking a little bit.

Jamilton continues to work and missed a lot of school.  We are looking to discuss with him changes for school next year so that his education and work don’t conflict with each other, although recently he has been working 7 days a week, 14 hours a day to support his family as a construction worker.  The only time he has been taking time off is when he is exhausted and stays home one day to rest and recover then he is back at it.  We would love to see him continue his schooling but also understand the need to work hard and provide for his family, especially since work isn’t always available.  Please pray that we have an opportunity to talk with him soon about how we can better meet the needs of the family and see if he is interested in continuing school so that he can secure a more reliable and better paying job in the future.

Faviola and Hipolita made handicrafts like wreaths and crowns to sell for the Day of the Dead (November 1st).  They live near the cemetery and were able to sell most of them to those who wanted to decorate the tombs of their lost loved ones.  The remaining decorations they are considering changing them to Christmas decorations to sell for the holidays.

Hipolita has also been working for another family to care for a special needs child they have and maintaining the house while they work.  It has been a blessing as she has been able to work 6 days a week for at least the past month.

One of our missionaries has recently begun meeting with Faviola on a regular basis to help her grow in her relationship with the Lord, since e have witnessed a lot of shame and regret from her past that she has yet to deal with. We are trusting in God to restore and heal her from all that she is been through so she no longer feels restricted by her past and learns who she is in Christ.
