Since Ceci, Virginia, and the kids have moved out of Linda Vista back to their old place in Guatemala City, it has been difficult to maintain contact with them.  We were able to communicate with Ludwin recently to try to set up a meeting with him to see how everyone is doing and how we can continue to help him with his art career.  He struggled in college and has since lost the scholarship that another organization was providing for him.  Since then, he has been moving around trying to find work in and around Guatemala City.  Currently he is visiting extended family in his hometown of Quiché until October when he will return to the city and we will be able to meet with him.

In this map of Guatemala you can see that Quiché is located a few hours northwest of Guatemala City.

In asking how the rest of his family is doing, even though he hasn’t been able to visit them, we learned that Ceci continues to make decisions that puts herself and her family in danger.  Ludwin has been trying to be reunited with Ceci and the kids, even sending her money when he can, but recently discovered that she has an abusive boyfriend.  He is fearful for her and the kids, understandably.

He mentioned that he wants to try to get his visa to travel to the United States so he can paint in Central Park of New York City to earn more money than he is now.  We said we could discuss that when we meet with him to talk about his future plans and he said he will be trying to go to the embassy and apply to start the process.

Please keep this troubled family in your prayers:

For their protection
For God’s continued provision
For God’s direction for their future
For wisdom through the SARF team to serve them well
