As Gerson nears the end of his senior year of high school, he is required to fulfill 200 hours of “practica” or practice.  This is a requirement of all students before they graduate.  The goal is to give students some real world experience while giving them an opportunity to show a potential employer their skills.  On August 25th, he will begin his practice in the school at New Life Children’s Home, where Servants takes teams every year to work.  He will be working there as a technical advisor, but the details of his work are currently unknown.  Gerson is pursuing his diploma in computer design.

In Guatemala, high school students are required to pick a career path.  There are certain high school curriculums necessary for specific college degrees.  Depending on what you want to pursue in college, you must pick the corresponding coursework in high school.  Gerson and his mother, Emilia are very grateful for Gerson to finally finish his high school so he can obtain a consistent and decent paying job.  This is especially crucial because Emilia was recently laid off from her house cleaning job because her employer could no longer afford to pay her.

Please continue to pray for Gerson to work hard as he nears the end of his schooling and for the provision of a reliable job once he graduates.  When he completes his practica, he will qualify for graduation and will only need to find out the details of his graduation!
