As some of you may remember Roselina, or Roselia as we came to find out is her actual name, was the wife of Jorge Jimenez.  But they split up a few years ago.  After the split Roselia moved to the coast with her family, her phone was disconnected and we lost touch with her for awhile.

Then one day one of our missionaries ran into her in the local market.  They got to talking and found out that Roselia has moved back to this area.  Over the past year and a half we have slowly been able to re-establish our relationship with Roselia and the 2 sons, Anthony and Andre, who she took with her when she and Jorge split up.

The SARF missionaries have been able to grow in their relationship with the family again and the ministry was able to help Andre go to school this past year.  Anthony, is still too young for school.

During this time of reconnection Roselia met a man and got pregnant.  They bought a small lamina house and were living together about 20 mins away from Villa Nueva.  On September 4, 2017 Roselia gave birth to a sweet little girl named Ana.

When we visited with her a few days after the baby was born she told us that things were going well and that she was happy with Jose, the baby’s father, and her family.

A few weeks later we went to make Andre’s final payment for school for the year and the school told us he had not been in school for over a week.  We tried calling Roselia but she did not answer and the missionary who made the school payment was going to go to her house but he did not think this was appropriate because her husband was not home and he did not have anyone else with him.

The following Sunday some of our missionaries stopped by Roselia’s mother’s house on the way home from church and there they found the family.  Roselia said that she and Jose had problems so she left.  We expressed that we were relieved to find her because we were very worried when the school told us about Andre and then we couldn’t get ahold of her.

Andre only had 1 week of school left for the year when they moved so we were able to talk to the school and ask them if they would give him another chance to take the exams.  They did but sadly he did not pass the exams.  The school was still willing to work with him by letting him come in for the following 3 Saturdays and try to learn and make up what he got wrong on the tests.  However, when we shared this with Roselia she said that she already had plans on the coast for these Saturdays and she could not take him.  Our missionaries had prior commitments and could not take him so Roselia worked things out so she could get him there for some of the Saturdays.  We are now waiting to see if Andre passed his year of schooling.

We are also in the process of trying to meet with Roselia and see what is going to happen moving forward.  We want to see what her plans are and see if they are going to be staying where they are currently living before we evaluate how to move forward with Andre’s schooling.

Please pray for Roselia and her family.  They are going through a very difficult time.  Andre said he wants to continue studying so please help us to find the best way to help him do that.  Please also pray for wisdom for our missionaries as they navigate this situation alongside the family.
