We are happy to share that despite challenges earlier in the year Jairo and Dincy both passed their year of school this year!  We are also looking at putting Jairo in a different school next year which will hopefully help him with his struggles, and we have talked with his family about the importance of him making time for his studies.

This is difficult for them as part of the reason Jairo does not have a lot of time to devote to his studies is because he works to help provide for the family.  Please pray with us as we seek the Lord on how to best help them with this struggle so that Jairo has the time he needs to devote to his schooling.

We also ask that you would please pray for Dincy and Jairo’s older sister, Yanira, who moved in with her boyfriend about 3 months ago.  Yanira has struggled a lot since her mom’s death.  She has not done well in school and told us that she has no desire to study and just wants to keep babysitting when we asked her if she wanted to continue studying or possibly go to a trade school.  The family has shared that they have not had a lot of contact with Yanira since she left.  This is a very heartbreaking situation as we truly hoped to see Yanira finish her studies, be able to care for herself and her family, and grow in her relationship with Jesus.

We praise Jesus that Dincy and Jairo still want to continue in their studies and are doing well.  But as we have mentioned in past posts Dincy has distanced herself from the church that her family goes to, and now Yanira has distanced herself from the church and family as well.  Thankfully, over the last several months some of our missionaries have had the opportunity to spend time one on one with Jairo & Dincy and have been able to talk with them about some of their struggles and difficulties.  We pray that the Lord will continue to work and use these relationships to draw these precious children closer to Him.  Please continue to pray for the struggles this family is having. We trust that the Lord is working in all of these situations. We just hate to see them struggling so much!
