This year of school was one the girls had to fight through, but they came out victorious!  Ana had struggled with some headaches and eye allergies which kept her out of class a bit, but she has since recovered, and she graduated 6th grade! She is excited and a bit nervous to start middle school next year, but at least she will have her sister Silvia there with her.

Silvia also did well this year and has been spending her extra time during vacation selling bread in the market.  Recently she traveled to her mom’s hometown to visit with family, specifically her grandfather (Apolonia’s dad).  He began having severe issues this year with his blood sugar to the point he was hospitalized, and they thought he was going to die. Thankfully, he is making a slow but steady recovery and is at home but under close supervision.  Because Apolonia and the girls have traveled to visit them a lot this year, they will not be making their usual trip to spend Christmas with them.

Paola graduated middle school this year and is enrolled in high school with a focus in bilingual secretary!  Because we were able to enroll her in November, she was able to get a month of free English classes and has been enjoying them.  We told her that we would only speak to her in English to help her practice from now on, but she said she is not at that level yet.  She recently got a job working in a shoe store at the market and earns a salary even if she doesn’t sell shoes that day (which isn’t common).

We thank God for the blessing of his provision for the girls’ schooling as well as opportunities to work. Apolonia continues to sell fruit from their home.  Recently they sold a bunch of avocados in a week and made Q50 (the equivalent of $6).  Please continue to praise God with us and thank him for how well He continues to provide for this beautiful family.
