The Chinchillas have been trudging through some hard times, but God is good and always provides!
Jairo has struggled through school this year but he passed! We are starting to see that he may have dyslexia. He can’t seem to properly work out math problems and continues to mix up his operations and write his numbers backward. We are currently looking at finding a way to diagnose him so the school can better help him work through this. Despite these struggles, however, he seems to be excelling and had the honor of playing the bongos in his school’s Independence Day parade! He did very well and the director awarded him a few bonus points for participation.
Alejandra is growing and smart as a whip! She is excited to move onto 6th grade and be in the “senior class” of primary school.
Jackeline’s health has improved but she has struggled to find steady work. She even rented a car for a while to work as an Uber driver, but the gas costs gave her little return for her efforts. She is still dating Eddar and hopes they will get married someday, although Eddar is resistant because he has been married once before.
Thanks to a special donation, we were able to take the kids shoe shopping! Below are some photos from that day.
- Jairo is ready…waiting on Alejandra.
- Alejandra is very picky about what shoes she wears
- Heading home with their loot.
- Pizza treat on the way home!
- Being goofy with mixed shoes.
Please continue to pray for this family as they fight to overcome and be a self-sustaining family.
