The kids are growing up so fast! Alejandra doesn’t like going out with her mom anymore because people think they are sisters instead of mother and daughter.

This has caused Alejandra to try to be more independent and has been going places by herself like the local store. Jairo is also maturing a lot and you can tell in his demeanor. He isn’t as interested in “kids stuff” anymore. They have been doing well in school but their teachers recently came down with COVID which created some chaos in the school and their classes, being assigned homework that they didn’t understand without anyone to really explain it to them.

We are trying really hard to help motivate Jackeline to secure a job. While Eddar makes enough money to support the family, we have noticed that she has become a stay-at-home mom over the years and are afraid that by helping the kids with all of their school costs, we have enabled her to do so without taking financial responsibility for her kids.

We are working on a plan with her to give her some more responsibility to at least pay in part for the kids’ schooling next year. We have seen this motivate other families to more earnestly seek ways to seek income and a sustainable job. As the kids grow, they will need this example from their mom so that they too would be motivated to do the same.

Please pray that Jackeline becomes more motivated to find work and that we can successfully navigate with her the difficult conversations that this requires.
